This feline figure is a gift from Lucas’ girlfriend when she was in Mexico at the beginning of their relationship. An Alebrije a Mexican handcraft made with papier-mâché or wood, and combine elements of imaginary and real animals, and are painted in vibrant colors.
The Cat symbolizes independence, freedom, and being carefree, very similar to how cats are. The tail is a bit loose, but will go back into place when placed. The Alebrije is perched atop the highest ledge overlookingthe main portion of Lucas’ room.
